I am an impressionistic oil painter, illustrator, art teacher and writer living in south Austin with my husband and two sweet little children. My absolute joy is to paint flowers from life in my home studio. I prefer painting from life, rather than a photograph because it gives me the opportunity to arrange the florals in interesting color combinations, and I also know that I have a limited time to paint before the flowers wither.

Illustration is another great delight of mine. I love to narrate life's moments, mostly the ones that are sweet and pure. However, I have been experimenting with complicated moments in motherhood. Either way, I simply love to use art to express and explore my thoughts and emotions in a way that is relatable and accessible to others.

As a mother of two, my time in the studio has to be efficient, so I have learned to prioritize, plan ahead and work quickly. My painting time is sacred and scarce, but it allows me to feel balanced and peaceful.

My goal is to create art that brings life and joy to the viewer. Making art is an act of worship and the process comes from a place of love, delight and enjoyment. I love to experiment with different techniques and color palettes. Ultimately, my art is a gift from God to be a gift to others.
